Health & Safety Training

Every event organisation, or television production team needs to ensure that their employees, contractors or freelancers have, or are provided with, adequate health and safety training and information. When people are competently trained in hazard identification, have effective communication skills and can behave safely, the less likely an injury or accident will happen at work.

Courses available:

  • Basic Introduction to Health and Safety
  • Event safety
  • First Aid - Appointed person
  • Health and safety induction - for new or young employees.
  • Working at height – Basic and advanced levels.
  • Specialist – ‘Safe Shooting’ for camera crews and production teams
  • Manual Handling
  • Display Screen Equipment – Postural Awareness & Workstation Assessment
  • Bespoke training program

Courses will include:

Legal Requirements: Health and Safety legislation is extensive and it creates rights and obligations for the employers, employees, & visitors.

Hazard Identification & Risk Assessments: Every event organisation, production company and self-employed person is legally required to make a “suitable and sufficient” assessment of workplace risks. Where the employer employs five or more people they must record the significant findings of the assessment.

Location Safety: Production teams must put into place adequate procedures to control all foreseeable risks, while on location or in the studio. The risks may be to employees, contractors, visitors or members of the public.

Emergency Procedures: Safe access and egress, first aid, fire-fighting arrangements, liaising with the emergency services are some of the key areas which must have effective planning and organization depending on the size for the activity.

Regulation 13 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 states “Every employer shall ensure that his employees are provided with adequate health and safety training”.
